The quarterly journal, Space Economy and Rural Development,” was established in the autumn of 2012 with authorization from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. Since then, it has been regularly published in both print and electronic formats by the Faculty of Geographical Sciences at Kharazmi University. Based on the Ministry’s authorization, the journal has held a “Scientific-Research” grade with a “B” ranking since Volume 1, Issue 1 (Autumn 2012).

Respecting publication ethics, the journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and complies with the executive regulations of the Law on Prevention and Combating Fraud in Scientific Works.

Submission (plagiarism check) is mandatory for all manuscripts. Following editorial board approval and prior to the peer-review process, authors are required to visit the IranDoc similarity check system at tik.irandoc.ac.ir to obtain a certificate. The journal’s policy requires manuscripts to have a similarity score of less than 25% (excluding direct quotes). Authors are obligated to revise articles if the similarity score is between 25% and 30% before the peer-review process. Submissions with a similarity score exceeding 30% will not be accepted and will not be sent for review. The similarity report certificate must be uploaded to the journal’s submission system along with the original manuscript file and the conflict of interest form, or sent via email to the journal at serd@khu.ac.ir.

The goal of the Space Economy and Rural Development journal is to publish high-quality, innovative fundamental and applied research in the field of rural economics with an interdisciplinary approach. In this regard, the journal’s vision is to achieve a top-tier ranking in regional rural development planning and to be included in reputable international indexes. This journal is published under the CC-BY-NC license.
